Subject: Announcement of Policies and Application Procedures

1. The International Education Fee, funded by the two dollar per semester fee, provides grants
to supplement the cost of international studies. Grants are given to students enrolled in (a)
Lamar study abroad college credit courses approved by the Texas Coordinating Board for
Higher Education where more than 50 % of the course content has contact hours conducted
abroad, and (b) for international programs organized by other institutions so long as those
hours are transferable to Lamar for academic credit, and more than 50 % of the contact
    hours are conducted abroad.

2. International Education Fee Grant awards are awarded three times per year: for fall, spring,
and summer. Please note that the Committee reserves the right to make additional awards
and to change policies as circumstances require.

3. Applications will be accepted only during the semester immediately prior to the semester in
which you plan to study abroad: Spring for May mini-session, Summer, and Fall; and Fall
for Spring. The study abroad director will contact applicants as early as possible after those
dates. The Committee is not obligated to accept any applications after the stated times. Do
not give your applications to faculty members. Applications must go to the Lamar Study
Abroad office, in Social and Behavioral Sciences 203M.

4. International Education Fee grants are limited to students enrolled in programs that will
result in academic credit. Preference will be given to students applying to Lamar
University-sponsored programs. Grants will not be given for non-academic related travel
and are subject to the conditions described below.

5. Please read “
Application Procedures” and “International Education Fee Grant Guidelines
carefully before filling out the Application and signing the International Education Fee Grant
    Acceptance Agreement.

6. If you have questions, please e-mail Dr. Joanne Lindoerfer at
