Division of Student Affairs
Lamar University’s Division of Student Affairs, as an integral part of the educational process, is dedicated to fostering a supportive caring campus community where students are empowered to learn and achieve their fullest potential.
The Division of Student affairs is under the direction of the Vice President of Student Affairs, Dr. Barry Johnson, a 25 year employee of Lamar University. Dr. Johnson, along with his Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, Mr. Norman Bellard and Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, Dr. Jay Lambert lead and direct a team of departments that include the Career & Testing Center, Greek Life, Health Center, Judicial Affairs, Leadership Development, Orientation, Recreational Sports, Residence Life, Setzer Student Center, Student Government, and the University Press. Student Affairs offers a wide variety of opportunities for academic and personal growth, leadership development, and organizational involvement.
The Division of Student Affairs is committed to the improvement of the quality of life for students and to the enhancement of their competencies as productive citizens. The division advocates responsible behavior, suppo rts learning and promotes the attainment of personal and cultural goals through varied activities.
