Award winning producers C. Wyatt Cagle and Gordon S. Williams launch their latest project Do You as a web series on several outlets on the Internet. Do You, A Web Series, will be launched today (Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008) on the movie’s website, www.doyouthemovie.com and on several Internet outlets.
“This project will be available on iTunes, YouTube, Veoh, and a number of other major media outlets that allow video content online. Releasing content and using the Internet in this manner is cutting edge,” Cagle said.
Internet traffic to the Do You Website has increased tremendously in the last few months in anticipation of the project’s upcoming launch. Williams and Cagle are eager to distribute this project in an innovative manner using the World Wide Web and are eager to participate in the new content revolution. This up and coming producing duo is interested in producing content for the “YouTube” Generation and they feel that Do You is a new and pioneering step in that direction.
“We are telling a universal story. From the web hits and e-mails that we have received, people are definitely interested in the content we’ve produced and the means that we are releasing the project.” Gordon says.
In Do You, Paula Teague and Frank Bradshaw only have one thing in common; they want their children to end their current relationship. The Bradshaws, a Southern white family, are surprised to meet their daughter Kesha’s boyfriend, Cameron Teague, who is black. Surprised changed to outrage when Cameron introduced Kesha to his outspoken mother, Paula. When Kesha and Cameron decide to get married, the feelings and stereotypes of their over-protective parents are made clear. Their opinions force Kesha and Cameron to attempt drastic measures to maintain their love.
“Do You has a great message wrapped in an entertaining story that we hope that audiences will enjoy viewing it online.” Wyatt says.
Do You is the second collaborative production from Cagle and Williams. The short screenplay for Do You received an Honorable Mention Award at the Urban Media Makers Film Festival in Atlanta in October 2007. The ensemble cast of Do You includes LA Young, Cheryl Guidry, Jamel Thomas, Daisy Hargraves, Connie Carter, Osbie Shepard, Jennifer Almaguer, D. Wesson and Halie Davis.
The web series will run for 10 weeks and consists of 10, 3 to 5 minute episodes of the project. A new episode of the series will be released every Thursday until the series’ completion. Williams is excited about the release of Do You online.
“With this project, we have the opportunity to show this movie to the world. Do You will be accessible to hundreds of millions of people with just a click of the mouse.” Williams said.
