Minimum Requirements
1) GPA of 2.7
2) 45 hours
3) Be a first-generation / low-income student
and/or
Be a member of a minority under-represented in graduate study
(African-American, Hispanic, or Native American)
How to Apply
Eligible students can obtain an application from 1060A East Virginia, next door to Subway. Applications must include general information about the student, 2 letters of reference from faculty at Lamar, a letter from financial aid or a copy of the previous year's tax return, and a transcript of all college classes.
Applicants will go through a 4-step process to become a scholar:
Applicants will be checked to determine eligible GPA and hours.
Applicants will be classified as first-generation/low-income and/or under-represented student.
Application will be reviewed by the Selection Committee to determine students who will receive an interview.
Approved applicants will receive an interview offer to allow the Selection Committee to determine the applicant's educational goals and fit with the program.
