Policies
Policy for Circulation of Media Equipment:
- Equipment should be reserved in advance. If possible, please allow 48 hours ahead of time. Any requested time less than 48 hours cannot be guaranteed. We do make exceptions, depending on the request.
- Most equipment will be delivered before 3:30pm, unless noted by the day staff.
- Any equipment that is needed after 3:30pm will be left out and instructions will be left for the evening staff regarding the handling of the equipment.
- Request for equipment made after 3:30pm will have to be confirmed on the next business day. Patrons will need to call back the next morning, as soon as possible to confirm.
- We Cannot guarantee delivery of equipment during rainy weather.
- In the case of not having student workers to deliver equipment, we do our best to notify the responding party in a timely manner that they may need to pick up the items themselves.
- Students needing equipment, video tapes must fill out and have signed in advance, by a professor or group advisor, an Assigned Responsibility form. Without this form, students are not permitted to check out equipment, videotapes or compact discs. Other media can be used by students without this form. For your convenience the Assigned Responsibility Form can be downloaded by clicking here.
Children Computer Use Policy:
Children over the age of 13 may use the library's collection and facilities for research purposes only. Library computers may be used by minors for research purposes only; all other uses are strictly prohibited. Children over the age of 13 are expected to abide by the University's Internet Usage Policy. In times of high demand, minors may be asked to relinquish use of computers if a Lamar University student, faculty or staff member requires the use of a computer for research needs. Failure to abide by these policies will result in minors being asked to leave the library. The Mary and John Gray Library, nor Lamar University, are responsible for any materials viewed by minors in either print or electronic format.
Printing Policy:
In order to keep printing costs down, we ask all users of the Gray Library Media Center to print only what is needed for their research. Please try to limit your printing to 25 total pages per day.
