It is the student's responsibility to make sure you are officially enrolled in this course. If, at any point, you decide to drop the class, it is your responsibility to officially drop. Any student who stops attending class and does not officially drop the course will be given an "F" as the semester grade. |

Course Description: |
A focus on theories of vocational choice, vocational assessment, sources of occupational and educational information and the career decision process. Field work and research are a significant part of this course. |

Course Objectives: |
At the conclusion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Provide an historical overview of career counseling and the major theories of career development. 2. Demonstrate the use of assessment and technology in career counseling. 3. Identify sources of occupational and educational information which will assist in the career decision process. 4. Clarify issues related to career counseling with diverse/special populations. 5. Articulate the role of career counseling in educational and work settings and address career transitions throughout life. |
