Academic Dishonesty, Misconduct, Discipline Code. Student conduct regulations, as found in the Lamar . University-Beaumont Student Handbook, apply to all graduate students. It is the student's responsibility to make sure you are officially enrolled in this course. If, at any point, you decide to drop the class, it is your responsibility to officially drop. Any student who stops attending class and does not officially drop the course will be given an "F" as the semester grade. |

Course Description: |
A study of theories of individual counseling with an emphasis on techniques and applications. |

Course Objectives: |
At the conclusion of the course, students will be able to: 1. Demonstrate an awareness of the history and trends of counseling with an emphasis on personal and professional aspects. 2. Describe the major theories of individual counseling with an emphasis on techniques and applications. 3. Identify characteristics of the mature/healthy personality. 4. Articulate an awareness of issues related to counseling with persons from diverse/special grounds. |

Project: |
Write a paper on one of the counseling theories to be discussed in class. Use at least one primary source and at least five secondary sources. Make copies of your paper for the class and be ready to discuss it on the night we cover your theory. |
