Courses Required:

EDLD 5306 and EDLD 5363 will be offered starting in the Fall 2002 semester. EDLD 5365 and EDLD 5366 will be taught for the first time in Spring 2003. Since EDLD 5306 is a general course taken by most students in Educational Leadership, additional requirements will be expected from those seeking Technology Applications Certification.

EDLD 5306 Fundamentals of Educational Technology

This course is a prerequisite to all other courses and is offered every semester as either a web or traditional class. It offers a functional knowledge of educational computing and technology touching on topics such as internet access acceptable use policies, ethics, technology and the curriculum, multimedia overview, current issues in technology and current hardware/software related topics.

EDLD 5363 Video Technology and Multimedia (Revised course)

A survey course in principles of multimedia design and production, including hardware and software tools for multimedia presentation of instruction. Student will be taught the construction and use of presentation programs for educational use especially focusing on video design and production in the educational arena.

EDLD 5388 or EDLD 5365 Web Mastery for Instructional Design (New Course)

Reviews internet and intranet concepts such as web protocols and html and provides experiences for creating informative, usable information resources for delivery over the web.

EDLD 5388 or EDLD 5366 Graphic Design and Desktop Publishing (New Course)

An overview of technology generated graphics and animations along with the design and development of electronic documents and print-based page layout. Student will demonstrate how to use appropriate Technology-based productivity tools to create and modify solutions to problems and create high-quality publications such as brochures and newsletters and easily leverage existing content to create customized communications.
