Tell Other Listeners Why You Support KVLU!

listeners

Our Fall 2009 Campaign kicks off October 20th and we are looking to you, the listener, to help the KVLU staff during pitch breaks by giving your very own testimonial to be aired during our 10-day campaign.

How it Works:
To participate all you have to do is submit your testimonial by filling out the form on this page. If your testimonial is picked by the KVLU staff, we will contact you about recording your message. You will receive a special phone number and a time to call KVLU. At that time you will read your testimonial as we record it over the phone lines. No need to come by, we're making it easy! Providing your email address on the form allows us to contact you as well as email your message so you can read it exactly as it is written. If you would rather record your testimonial in the studio, please indicate in the "comments" section of the form below.

Your testimonial will spice up our pitch breaks and remind other listeners like you the real importance of supporting public radio programming. Every listener has their reasons for tuning in and a great story to share. It's not only fun to hear stories about how KVLU enriches listener's lives but it encourages a non-member to do their part by making a contribution. It's that little push that gets them to the phone. There's nothing like hearing passionate listeners giving their reasons for supporting 91.3 KVLU.

PARTICIPATE TODAY! It will do our fundraiser a world of good. Thank you.

"(Station Name) really challenges you to think outside your normal perspective. It opens up your mind. There have been so many great stories that I’ve heard. You find yourself getting really drawn in and emotionally effected by the stories that you hear."
"Fresh Air with Terry Gross is one of the best programs on the air. I'm a book lover and she will very often make me stop on the side of the road, call my local bookstore and say 'Please, I need that book right now!"
Susan remembers listening to public radio with her mom, and now she listens with her two boys, ages five and three. "I time my errands so we can listen to Car Talk and they think Click and Clack’s laugh is so funny. Even if they have no idea what they’re talking about – they just think the laughter is hysterical."
(Station Name) is my daily vitamin. I listen every day and I get my daily recommended allowance of news and information. "It keeps my brain healthy, it keeps me engaged, and it challenges me to think in different ways. At the end of every day, my wife and I will say, 'did you hear that story on NPR?' and we'll have a conversation about it. My wife and I support Public Radio because we rely on it. And because we rely on it, we should pay for it."
"There are many things in our society that only happen because people give. As a listener, I feel it is my responsibility and I'm always glad to give. I love it! I can choose to listen to the news, classical or jazz twenty four hours a day. All I have to do is push a little button and it's there for me!
"We've been underwriting for eight years and have found it to be tremendously successful. Public Radio carries a tremendous amount of credibility with its audience. Listeners trust (Station Name). I knew right away that my underwriting dollars were being well spent."
"As a small business owner, it’s important to me to support (station name). Like other people who don’t have time to read the newspaper, (station name) opens the world to me. I hear the news and the commentaries and it makes it easy for me to know what the world is doing. There’s no bias on (station name), they tell you exactly what the truth is."
"I find that classical music really stills my soul in times of challenge. You know, whether it's personal or family or world challenges, I just think there's a certain rhythm to music that really helps. Because it feeds the soul, it's very strengthening and it quiets us down. And we in this culture do not quiet down easily."
