KVLU has been chosen to participate in a new public radio initiative created by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. This campaign, called "My Source", is in the pilot stages now and is scheduled for a nation-wide rollout in 2008.
The goal of the initiative is to raise public awareness for public radio beginning at the grass roots level and broadening out. CPB is commited to the project and is determined to engage public radio stations of all sizes in the process.
For the last few months, KVLU gathered stories from our listeners about what they love about public radio. The core of the campaign is that every listener has a story to tell about why they
continue to listen to and support their public radio stations. Some of these stories will be produced into :30 spots to air on KVLU and may also be used on the national level.
Some of the sample spots are quite good and range from listeners talking about NPR news programs to classical music or one of those "driveway moments" listeners often describe.
As we've learned throughout the years, our listeners have countless stories to share with us about why they support KVLU. Here are just a few samples that will be submitted.
