You may have heard something very similar during a fundraiser and wondered how
you could get in on the action and become a challenger. Learn more...
What is it?
A company or an individual pledges to match listeners' pledges in a manner to be 
determined by the KVLU management. For instance, "John Doe will give KVLU an extra $25
for each of the next ten membership pledges received, starting now." The minimum challenge
grant is $250. Listeners love to take advantage of offers like this, and will often delay
a pledge until there is a challenge going on. A challenge may be anonymous. Larger
challenges are often presented as a dollar for dollar match or in larger matching amounts
such as $40 or $50. We have proved over and over that a challenge works.
You Benefit!
Your name or your company's name is mentioned over and over during the challenge. All
companies and individuals offering challenges of $1,000 or more will receive bonus
underwriting announcements and acknowledgement in our program guide. If your challenge is
in honor of a person or event, the same things apply. In addition, for each $250 of your
challenge, you may choose to have a day sponsor membership on the day of your choice.
If you wish your challenge to be anonymous, we suggest honoring a person, organization,
profession or institution.

Pledge momentum is generated early in the campaign, thus leading to a shorter campaign.
Increased telephone calls are infectious, and generate even more members. The on-the-air
fund raisers cannot help but sound exciting when the telephones are active, and the
excitement spreads to listeners, creating more pledges.

challenge, the day and time it will be offered and how you want the announcement worded.
We will then send you a simple form to fill out, sign and return to us. We will bill you
at the conclusion of the campaign.
