A Beaumont Main Street Event

Calling all puppy lovers and KVLU pet members - Is your doggie the cutest on the block? Enter the Cutest Dog Photo contest by going to Beaumont Main Street's Face Book Page.

KVLU is a proud sponsor of the event to be held Saturday, October 9 at the Big Fire Hydrant in downtown Beaumont from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. We'll be there doing a live remote so be sure to stop by and visit with your friends at 91.3 KVLU!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY NPR!

Forty years ago, NPR was an infant organization, with 65 affiliate stations, 5 reporters and a handful of programs. Its future was uncertain, partially because of an untested precept: NPR was committed to an oddball nonprofit business model that required it to operate without commercial advertising revenue. It had an even greater founding heresy: stations that broadcast NPR programming would figure out how to convince listeners to voluntarily pay for programs they already received for free.
