J.
Lee Thompson teaches Issues in World Cultures, Historical Research,
Victorian England, 19th-Century Europe, and 20th-Century Europe, as well
as the U.S. history surveys. His
research interests include modern Britain and Europe, the British Empire,
British politics, and propaganda. He
has published A Wider Patriotism: Alfred Milner and the British Empire
(Pickering and Chatto, 2007); Forgotten Patriot: A
Life of Alfred, Viscount Milner of St. James’s and Cape Town (Fairleigh
Dickinson University Press, 2006); Northcliffe: Press Baron in Politics, 1865-1922 (John Murray
Publishers, 2000); and Politicians,
the Press and Propaganda: Lord Northcliffe and the Great War, 1914-1919
(Kent State University Press, 1999).
Dr. Thompson served as president of the Western Conference on
British Studies, 2004-2006, and in 2006 was visiting fellow at Wolfson
College, Cambridge University. Currently, he is a Fellow of the
Royal Historical Society and 2007 Distinguished Faculty Lecturer. |
