Cynthia Ksiazek joined the Lamar
University Student
Health Center in February 2000 as a Mental Health
Counselor. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Lamar
University, a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Houston
Graduate School of Social Work, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Cynthia has previously served as an
adjunct instructor for the Social Work and Sociology Departments.
In addition to counseling Lamar
University and Lamar Institute of Technology students, Cynthia promotes mental
health and wellness through educational and outreach activities to reduce the
stigma surrounding mental health issues and to generate awareness about
treatment options available to enrolled students. She advocates a
solution-focused approach to help students attain their personal and academic
goals.
Her personal interests include
relaxing with her husband Walter and their dog "Bentley", and
entertaining friends at their weekend beach home.
