Degree Requirements

The Bachelor of General Studies will be awarded upon completion of 120 semester credit hours that meet the following requirements:

1. Core Curriculum (48 hours):

2. Elective hours (42 hours): elective courses as selected by the student and approved by advisor.

3. Advanced elective hours (30 hours):

4. Grade Point Average:

Transfer students: 30 hours must be completed at Lamar University, of which 18 hours must be advanced (junior and senior level). (See the current Lamar University Catalog p. 68 for more details.)
