The Family Studies area prepares the student for a career in private and
governmental agencies that serve children and families. Courses equip the
student to aid individuals and families in solving problems related to personal
and family relationships as well as consumer skills. Field experiences required
by various courses utilize the Lamar University Early Childhood Development
Center and various social agencies.
