Approved New Educator Standards: By Certification Field and Level


New certificates and examinations will be available for the following areas in FALL 2002.

Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities   (EC - Grade 12)

Technology Applications (All Beginning Teachers)NOTE: These Technology Applications standards are expected of ALL beginning teachers and will be incorporated into the new ExCETs for Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities at each certification level.

Generalist (EC-Grade 4)

Social Studies (4-8)

New certificates and examinations will be available for the following areas in fall 2004. [NOTE: Certificates are currently available in Computer Science (8-12) and Technology Applications (8-12) to qualified candidates who have completed and been recommended by an SBEC-approved preparation program. Please contact your preparation program directly for more information.]
