As the Adult Studies Coordinator, I’m excited to welcome you to Lamar University. LU is not only for traditionally-aged students but for adult students as well. While some adult students are able to attend the “traditionally-scheduled” courses, others must attend class around a full-time work schedule.

Some of the benefits of returning to college include:

  • Completing your bachelor’s degree
  • Increasing your job security
  • Breaking through the glass ceiling
  • Improving your value in the workplace

I’m proud of Lamar University’s commitment to providing a learning environment of the highest quality. LU emphasizes quality teaching and student access to faculty. We understand the special requirements of adult students who are interested in earning their bachelor’s degree, but who must continue meeting their professional and personal commitments. We are working hard to make it more convenient for you by offering courses in the evenings, on weekends, and via distance learning. I hope you’ll think about joining the many students who have chosen to begin or complete their bachelor’s degree at LU.

On this web site you will find basic information about our program. After you have browsed for a while, I encourage you to contact me 409-880-7989 or e-mail at Lisa.Cowart@Lamar.edu so I can help get you started soon!

Sincerely,

Lisa Taylor Cowart,
Adult Studies Coordinator
