Welcome

Welcome to the College of Fine Arts and Communication at Lamar University, a distinguished center of learning, creative growth and scholarship.

Here, individuals seeking to enrich artistic talents, to study the various fields of communication, to pursue understanding in deaf education and American Sign Language, or to develop skills in audiology and speech pathology, are equipped with invaluable tools perfectly suited to benefit the health and quality of life for all. From performing arts to speech pathology, painting to publishing, we prepare our students to become leaders in their fields.

The college is comprised of five departments offering 15 undergraduate and eight graduate degree programs. Building on a legacy of teaching excellence, faculty are actively involved in research and creative activities. In addition, our exemplary and diverse course offerings and our cohesion as a college has provided our students with opportunities to explore inter-departmental pursuits, including dance performances choreographed using American Sign Language, musical scoring of student-produced documentary films, and the use of visual design in the development of strategic advertising campaigns.

I invite you to take a moment to explore all we have to offer as we continue to expand and grow, making an indelible mark upon the 21st century.
