Le Grand Bal, presented by the Lamar University Friends of the Arts, brings an evening of grace and elegance to Southeast Texas. The gala event features a silent art auction and reception in the Dishman Art Museum followed by fine dining, dancing and entertainment in the Montagne Center. The major annual fundraiser provides valuable support to the College of Fine Arts and Communication.

Lamar University, in conjunction with the Friends of the Arts, is proud to present Le Grand Bal and Art Auction. The goals of the annual Bal and Auction are:


1. To help raise needed funds for all of the art departments within the university. These funds provide opportunities for student travel and development, further community outreach and, of course, significant scholarships that allows the university to attract the best, brightest and most talented people of the region.


2. To present an event that brings the community and university together in order to enhance the promotion of the arts and augment the quality of life in the community.


3. Corporate support allows the evening to remain affordable to the community, enjoyable to all involved, and provides leadership for the community in the cultural arena.
