Our faculty and students have presented their original work and research at academic and professional conferences throughout the nation and around the world, highly revered and recognized for their efforts. These types of unique opportunities and achievements are the bridge from classroom to career that will accompany each student throughout a lifetime of success.

In addition, our departments as a whole have consistently received honors and accreditations. In 2005, the state legislature designated the Department of Deaf Studies & Deaf Education as the Center of Excellence for Deaf Studies for the State of Texas. The graduate programs in the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences were nationally accredited by Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and the Music division is accredited and in "Good Standing" with the National Association of Schools of Music.
