- Personal Note: My professional areas of interest include public school issues, child speech and language issues, and clinical supervision / instruction in Speech-Language Pathology. I am a member of ASHA, the Texas Speech Language Hearing Asso. (TSHA), and the South-east Texas Speech Language Hearing Asso. (SETSHA), as well as Quota International of SETX. Other responsibilities include serving as NSSLHA Advisor and Internship Coordinator for the Department of Speech & Hearing Sciences.
My professional background includes 12 years serving the local public schools, 6 or which were also working part-time within a sub-acute rehabilitation setting. I am currently in my 10th year at Lamar Univ. Speech & Hearing Dept. as Clinical Supervisor & Instructor and feel honored to have the opportunity to serve my hometown community in the field of Speech-Language Pathology. As a Lamar alumnus, I am also proud to be able to say that I have been a part of the LU Speech & Hearing Program as a student, alumnus, internship supervisor or employee since 1978. This program continues to flourish and serve the greater SETX community and beyond.
When I am not supervising and teaching you may find me enjoying many outdoor activities at the regional lakes, at the beach or simply in my backyard. Traveling, swimming, boating and camping are some of my favorite activities. I also sing Lead with the Spirit of SETX Chorus of Sweet Adelines International and enjoy performing and attending singing competitions. I am a native Texan but my background is Cajun French; Maiden name: Boudreaux! This means I like spicy food, good music and friendly people! I have been married for 27+ years and have 2 grown sons who serve with the Texas Army National Guard and are Eagle Scouts. I have a dachshund, Bella and two cats, Boy and Cali. Yes, I feel blessed and consider myself lucky to lead a somewhat charmed life.
