Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences: Student OrganizationsNational Student Speech Language Hearing AssociationNSSLHA is a pre-professional membership association for students interested in the study of communication sciences and disorders. NSSLHA has over 314 independently operated chapters located on college campuses and universities. Membership in national and local NSSLHA is available to undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral students enrolled full- or part-time in a communication sciences program or related major. As a member of the organization, you will be involved in fundraisers, service projects and attend different conventions. For the 2009-2010 school year, members of NSSLHA are participating in the Applebee's Flapjack Pancake Breakfast, bake sales and business donations to raise money to attend the ASHA National Convention in New Orleans, LA. The service projects include feeding the homeless at First Baptist Church, reading to kindergartners at Martin Elementary School, volunteering at the SETX Humane Society and participating in an "Angel Tree" at Martin Elementary School.
