Burdett Expertise: Electrophysiology, Vestibular Assessment & Rehabilitation, Pediatric Audiology Teaching: Electrophysiology, Pharmacology, Introduction to Audiology, Psychoacoustics, Pediatrics Research: The Effects of Pressure Equalization Tubes on Distortion Product Otoacoustic Emissions Service Interests: Working to improve Universal Newborn Hearing Screening program implementation, and improving parent and community education about the impact of hearing loss in newborns and children. Personal Note: My research interests include universal newborn hearing screening, pediatric intervention of otitis media and vestibular assessment and rehabilitation. I am excited to be teaching at Lamar University. I enjoy sharing my knowledge, and being in a university setting allows me the opportunity to stay current with trends in audiology. My background includes working with otolaryngologists, supervising a balance center and a hospital clinic, and operating a private practice. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and three children. We love the outdoors, and that is where we spend most of our time. This area provides us with many opportunities for outdoor adventures! |
