Welcome
The department offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in music. Full admission to the university is necessary prior to being admitted as a music major. Please see the "Admissions" link on the Lamar homepage (www.lamar.edu) for more information regarding admission to the university. To be considered a music major, one must be formally admitted to the university and pass an audition. Please review the webpage "Scholarships and Auditions" for more information regarding dates and repertoire. Dr. Kim Ellis (409.880.8149), coordinator of auditions, schedules dates and times for auditions. If you need help with materials for the audition, Dr. Ellis will assist you in contacting a faculty member in your area of study to suggest possible repertoire for the audition. If I can be of further assistance to you, please don't hesitate to reach me at (409) 880-8144. I look forward to hearing from you and assisting you in your success at Lamar. Best wishes!
