Art Department: Electronic MediaThe Department of Art offers courses in electronic media that prepare students for the professional marketplace and advanced graduate study. Whether one works with networked mobile devices, GPS information feeds or motion-synched interactive art, the nature of the medium is in constant flux as every advancement in technology provides for new systems of delivery for the artist. This area of study provides a student with the opportunity to focus on electronic tools as a method for artistic visual communication. Our emphasis is on a student's visual voice and critical insight into possibilities of using technology as a source for artistic expression. We provide students with strong foundations in the medium by offering courses in beginning and advanced digital imaging, digital fine art photography, interactive multimedia design, Web Design, 3-D animation and digital video. There are two electronic media computer labs, providing students with the opportunity to utilize both Mac and PC based equipment. Our labs consist of Mac and PC workstations, dedicated renderng farms for digital video and 3D Animation and workstations dedicated for printing and scanning.
