Mission Statement
The Center for Distance Education promotes and supports the Lamar University best practices related to instructional technology, professional development, and distance education in support of Lamar’s strategic plan. It is the Center’s mission to develop and apply appropriate technology to teaching, provide quality professional development opportunities, and facilitate the delivery of distance learning for Lamar University.
Main Goals
Provide professional development to Lamar faculty to ensure the sound incorporation of educational technology and promote best pedagogical practices.
Research and apply the newest, most appropriate educational technology campus wide.
Facilitate and promote distance education for all colleges and departments to provide distance education opportunities to meet identified student needs.
