Courses offered through the Center for Distance Education include courses offered via Interactive Video, Online courses and Off-campus courses. Students wishing to register for credit courses must first be admitted to Lamar University. Distance Learning Fee Information
For students enrolled in Distance Learning classes ONLY, the following university fees will be waived: Health Center Fee - $30, Property Deposit Fee-$10 and the Setzer Center Fee-$30. All distance education courses (online, telecourse, off-campus, and interactive) are accessed a $25 per credit hour Distance Learning Fee. Credit hours are indicated by the second digit of the course number. All Distance Learning Fees are NON-REFUNDABLE after 12th class day for Fall and Spring Semesters, 4th class day for Summer sessions, and 1st class day for mini-sessions.

ADA Compliance
The Office of Services for Students with Disabilities (SFSWD) offers a variety of services designed to assist students with disabilities in becoming fully participating members of the university community. Some of the services provided include academic accommodations, assistive equipment, interpreters, note-takers, physical access and priority registration. Interactive Video
Interactive videoconferencing technology allows Lamar to deliver courses to area high school campuses. Distant students have a complete two-way audio and video connection and are able to interact with the faculty member and the students attending the same class on the university campus. Accelerated high school students living in or near participating districts can take advantage of this program.

For the convenience of our night students, Lamar University faculty teach university courses at two off-campus sites. These sites are located at Lumberton High School and West Brook High School. Distance learning fees are applicable.

Online
Online courses can be completed from home, office or on campus. Before taking any online course you should have a basic working knowledge of how to use a web browser and how to follow directions for setting the options in your browser to work with Blackboard. You should also be able to download and install plug-ins as required.
You may not be contacted directly by your professor before you begin the class so it is imperative that you read the entire LamarOnline (Blackboard) page to learn how to sign-on to your online course, enter your Blackboard ID and password, and to check the "Preparing Your Computer" link to make sure you and your computer are ready. Distance Learning fees are applicable.

About Lumberton Courses
The Lumberton courses are offered for the convenience of our students who cannot take day classes. The core curriculum sequence is offered in a rotation so students can fulfill all basic requirements at Lumberton in evening classes. Some upper division classes are offered and additional courses will be added in coming semesters as student needs are identified.
