Passport through Lamar

The Passport program is a great opportunity for students to participate in career and professional development activities outside the classroom. Ultimately, the Passport program is a way to mold a student’s future and to create a strong sense of personal and career direction.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I get you in my class to talk to students?

YES! Passport “mini-sessions” may be held during the first or last 5 to 10 minutes of your classes. These “mini-sessions” will familiarize your students with the purpose of the program.

  • How do I know what my students have attended?

    • You will receive an attendance roster after each event concludes. In addition, Reports will be sent to you on the last class day.

    • If you would like to know the credits that your students have accumulated before the above mentioned times, please email aepumphrey@lamar.edu or jddevillier@lamar.edu

  • How are Qualifying Forms validated?

In order to receive credit for attending events not sponsored by the Career and Testing Center, a qualifying form must be turned in. For the form to be validated, students must bring verification of their attendance (ticket stub, program, community service form, business card, etc.) and have a sponsor’s signature and contact information.

  • What services do you offer for on-line students?

    • For online students we deliver all seminars via the web and blackboard. However, we ask that if you teach a traditional course that you stick to the face-to-face delivery. We feel this will add value to the program and encourage more employer participation.
