Lamar University

Chair, Biology Department

The Department of Biology at Lamar University is seeking an energetic and productive department chair.   Lamar is a state-supported institution of approximately 10,000 students located in Beaumont, Texas. Administratively located in the College of Arts and Sciences, the department offers undergraduate degrees in Biology, Environmental Science and Medical Technology.  A M.S. in Biology (thesis and non-thesis options) is also offered.  The department includes 11 faculty members and encourages an environment of collegiality and shared governance.  Applicants must possess an earned doctorate in biological science, and administrative experience is strongly preferred. 

The successful applicant must have a documented record of scholarship and teaching leading to a senior level appointment.  More information about the faculty and department and duties can be found at the departmental website.
