B.S. in Medical Technology - Pre-MedTech Program

No new students are being admitted into the BS MDTC Degree Program. Present MDTC students must complete all Lamar University course work by May 2013 and be accepted into one of two clinical year programs (Christus St. Elizabeth or Memorial) in order to complete the BS MDTC degree at Lamar University.

All students interested in a career as a certified Medical Technologist in Clinical Laboratory Sciences may pursue course work at Lamar University to fulfill entrance requirements for clinical-year program as a Pre-MDTC Program student. Pre-MDTC students may complete the requirements for the BS Biology degree and apply to a clinical year program for post-baccalaureate certification. Alternatively, a student may complete the requirements stated below, and in their junior year apply to a clinical-year program at UT-MB or UT-MDACC. The latter students will graduate from UT.
