Randall Wheatley
Randall
Wheatley teaches Acting, Playwriting, Voice and Diction and Theatre
History at Lamar University. He received the Bachelor of Science
degree in Education from Texas State University and the Master of
Fine Arts degree in Directing from University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
He has previously taught at the University of Arizona, the University
of Nebraska and The University of Texas at Permian Basin. He has
also been the Artistic Director for The Permian Playhouse in Odessa,
Texas and Associate Artistic Director of the Capitol City Playhouse
in Austin. As an actor, Mr. Wheatley has performed extensively in
regional theatre and Off-Broadway. As a playwright he has received
numerous awards and his play, Along for the Ride, was recently made
into an independent feature film. Since beginning teaching at Lamar
in 2001, he has directing such shows as Cabaret, Lysistrata, The
Bald Soprano and The Miss Firecracker Contest.
