Chris Hrasky

Austin independent filmmaker Chris Hrasky and his friend since childhood, Kurt Volk, directed "The Last Hope," a documentary about the groups of die-hard Star Wars fans who camped out to see the first showing of The Phantom Menace at Mann's Chinese Theater in Hollywood. Their film will be screened at the festival late Saturday night.

Hrasky and his co-drector, Kurt Volk, were both
born and raised in Rockford, IL...a city that for seven consecutive years was deemed "the worst place to live in America" by Money Magazine, according to the documentarians. They spent their youth playing in a heavy metal rock band. They both went on to earn college degrees. They currently reside in Austin, Texas. They have been friends since they were four years old.
