Other Requirements: The intent of a Regents Scholarship is to provide a significant financial award to incoming freshmen who have just graduated from high school. Recipients must be persons of high moral character and considered good citizens by their high school and university administrators. University scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis with considerable emphasis placed on extracurricular activities and outstanding academic achievement based on a combination of the following criteria: a) Class ranking and GPA b) SAT test scores c) High school transcripts d) Academic awards and honors e) Demonstrated talent or potential for high achievement in the area of study as evaluated by university official(s) in the specific area.
