The
Setzer Student Center (SSC) is provided for the
coordination of beneficial extra curricular activities
for students, faculty and staff of Lamar University and
Lamar Institute of Technology.
Recreation and Cultural development.
The
cultivation of more responsible local, state, and
national citizenship.
For an intelligent interest in, and deeper
affection for the University.
It is a program dedicated to
uniting the constituencies served by the University.
The
SSC named for late Dr. Richard W. Setzer, university
president (1967-1969), is the center of campus activities at
Lamar. This $2.8 million structure opened in spring of 1971.
